Limenas Marina

Commonly called “Thassos Town”, Limenas is the capital of the island and the home of the main harbor.

Limenas Marina hosts many boats during the high season, providing them with electricity and water. It provides excellent shelter in all directons. Around the pleasant harbor, you will find some excellent restaurants serving great Greek food.

Limenas is also known for hosting sailing competitions. In 2010, when Thassos was the starting point of the Aegean Regatta (an annual international sailing competition), it served 95 competing sail boats.

Go stern-to on the SE side, good holding. If the marina is too crowded, you can go stern-to the E mole but because of the rocks you cannot get too close to the mole and you will have to take long lines with the dinghy.

Caution: The ancient mole extends underwater for approximately 300 m to the NE of the harbor. Stay clear.

Facilities

  • Water and Electricity are provided.
  • All the government offices, the utilities, the major Greek banks, and the offices for the ferries, the buses and the port police and customs are located there.
